TOEFL as commonly referred to, is an international English proficiency exam. Used to define and pick foreign student who can comprehend Northern American English as its written, and spoken in the Universities. The test is conducted by the Educational testing service ETS. Questions are set and after the exam the ETS send the results to the score report.
The TOEFL syllabus is divided into four sections namely:
- Listening
- Reading
- Speaking
- Writing
The test follows specific form and the examinee are just required to show their language skill in this fields. The exam is taken in one day and given 10 minutes break in between the test. The students are mostly examined their ability to utilize all the four skill together.
Role for the student
- They are to read, listen and speak according to the question given.
- Listen then speaking following the question given.
- Students are to read, listen and then write to response of the question set.
- With these students can integrate all skill at the same time. Here we have a breakdown of each skill as follows:
1. Reading

This sections requires you to have vast knowledge in reading passages. Look for academic texts and also proper written books or newspapers to enhance your English. Here the examiners test on reading capability.
2. Listening

The listening skill is highly focused on, listen to lecture or academic discussion then answer questions as they are asked. You have to be careful and highly concentrate on the questions. You have the privilege to take note and refer to them whilst answering.
3. Speaking
Speaking requires you to express and speak out clearly on certain matters. The examiners test your ability to convey message and see also how well you can speak and listen plus write.

Write according to what you have read or listened to, you are also required to write something of your own like an opinion. Practice on time management and writing different passages based on creativity in order to tackle such exams.
